KinSource is a free online depository of genealogical and kinship related data.
KinSource is destined to furnish data referred to in scientific and nonscientific publications, and to serve for students and researchers.
Datasets available under kinsources have undergone scientific evaluation and fulfill standard criteria of quality and reliability. Every submitted dataset is checked by a scientific committee.
Datasets are freely available to the public after registration and subscription to user conditions (such as noncommercial use and citation in case of use in publications). Datasets can be published under different kinds of licenses (such as Creative Commons, see http://creativecommons.org/licenses)
Datasets may be submitted in gedcom, text, excel, tip or pajek format, via the Kinsources website, together with some basic informations on the dataset (geographic, historic and ethnographic setting, name and contact of author and coder, data sources, related publications)
Authors will have the possibility of regularly updating their corpuses. Previous versions of corpuses can be stored in an archive, so as not to get lost for users.
